One bedroom on main floor, two bedrooms on second level. All bedrooms have a queen size bed. Nearby fishing access, boating , bicycle access to lodge trails, close to golf course and lodge. The lake is right in front of the house approximately 200 feet you can put the kayaks in there, the golf course is 1.5 miles up the road and boat launch is also there is restaurants around close and a barbecue joint right up the road there is a gas station 3 miles up the road and a pizza shop the opposite way on 19 south. There is boat parking in a grass area below the house and in the past I have left my boat in the water below the house overnight on weekends with no problems at all the marina has boat slips for rent overnight and the lodge rents Pontoon boats kayaks and canoes are available also at the lodge the lodge does charge a entrance fee to get in I believe it’s 35.00 for the a season pass there is rt 19 below the house it has traffic on it but it’s not a major highway we have had a comment on this the lodge charges to get into park gate small fee unless you tell them your going in for dinner. **CHECK IN INFO WILL BE GIVEN ON THE DAY OF YOUR CHECK IN.** Please do not message about it beforehand. You will receive a code for entry. Codes are generated when the guest before you checks out. Please Google the area for activities and things to do. The lodge has a calendar with events you can check out on their website. I work full time so it's hard to answer these types of questions promptly. Google the address for directions, if you have trouble locating please contact us. Google area hospitals and medical services so you are aware of their locations if you would need them. Please leave the cabin the way you found it. There is NO SMOKING in this cabin or on the porch area. You may smoke by the fire pit and dispose or butts properly. Read house rules. There are fees associated with this. The cleaning fees cover the average cleaning, disinfecting, floor, washing linens, ect.. Please leave dirty towels in the tub or you can start them in washer. Newly built cabin overlooking the grounds of Lambert’s Winery. This is a one bedroom, one bath cabin. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. In addition, there is a pull-out couch in the living room for an additional two guests. This 2500 square foot log home is nestled in the saddle between two peaks on 40 wooded acres. Overlooking the Laurel Creek Valley and it is home to some of the best uncommercial kayaking in the state of West Virginia. You can step off the porch to go for a walk in the woods or down the gas well road. There are plenty of deer, turkeys and the occasional coyote can be heard in the evening. There is Fishing, Biking and Hiking all within a short distance from the cabin. On the expansive front porch you can enjoy the wind chimes as you sit and overlook the valley with a glass of wine. There is comfortable couch and chairs to relax on as well as a rocking chair. The spacious great room with its high ceilings and open floor plan is wonderful for a large group or a few couples. There is are two full size couches with a TV and DVD player. We also have a wonderful stand up Baldwin Piano, generally kept in tune! The full kitchen has plenty of workspace for anyone who would like to cook a gourmet meal. It is fully stocked with plenty of plates, serving items, glass and a fantastic dishwasher. There is also general kitchen items available, like salt,pepper,oil flour. We have two bedrooms on the first floor. The “Winter” room which has a Queen Bed facing east towards the sunrise has a large closet and dresser as well as a beautiful antique headboard. The “Summer Room” has a King Bed and overlooks the front porch and view of the valley it also has a large closet and dresser. The full bath with a tile tub and shower also includes a double sink vanity. The laundry room has a washer dryer and utility sink. The second floor has a loft with a recliner and is a great place to curl up with a book, if extra beds are needed this is the perfect spot for an air mattress. There are two bedrooms on the second floor. The “Fall” Master Bedroom with its poster king bed and room darkening curtains is welcoming and wonderful for those who need a very quiet place to rest. There are two closets and a dresser as well as a TV . The second bedroom is our “Spring Room” and has bunk beds and a trundle bed so 3 can sleep comfortably in this room. With the brightly decorated curtains it’s a perfect room for the kids. As you come out of the house the back porch wraps around and we have steps which lead down to our outdoor fire pit which is the perfect place to relax with friends and family and enjoy the sunset or see the amazing stars. Many a nights have been spent with good friends and stories around the campfire and there is always a pleasant breeze on the ridge. In this remote area of West Virginia you are surrounded by amazing scenery and rivers. The Tygart River is just a short drive from the cabin and is known for its beautiful whitewater and swimming. There is Moats Falls which is a 16’ waterfall cascading over the rocks. We can arrange with advance notice private kayaking instruction or rafting trips for any type of group, the gentle float or the class V excitement there is something for everyone. There is a flat water section of river from Philippi to the town of Arden. From Arden to the Teter Creek bridge it becomes Class IV whitewater and you can paddle over the 16’ waterfall if the water level is right! There is also creekin’ available on Teter & Laurel Creek just moments from the house. The Tygart Lake State Park is another nearby attraction where boats and all types of lake recreation activities are available. You can rent a pontoon boat for the day and enjoy this scenic lake. Another local favorite is Audra State Park where the Middle Fork of the Tygart river flows though tight channels and larger boulders, amazing fishing, hiking and swimming await you at this park. The famous Blackwater falls is an attraction about an hour from the house. This cascading waterfall drops 65 feet! This area is also home to some of the most famous and amazing Mountain Biking in the state of West Virginia. Stop in the local bike shop, Blackwater Bikes to find out about the trails but you can spend hours riding and even visit an area called “A Ride to the Moon” where you can challenge yourself on some of the most technical riding in the east on the Moon Rocks. This is not for novice riders! However, there are also some great easy trails as well; check out the bike path in Parsons or the Allegheny Trail which goes for miles a nice paved trail for road riders. The cabin is about 45 minutes from Clarksburg, 2 hours from Charleston and about 1 1/2 hours from Morgantown. If you are flying in either of these airports would work for you. This home was built in 1920 and has an abundance of character ! Original hardwood floors. High ceilings. Convenient location to downtown businesses, dining, shopping, college and attractions. House will be vacant.The 2nd floor is for storage purposes only and no one is permitted to venture upstairs. I love pets. However, you must clean up after your pets. A vacuum cleaner is available 100% of the time during your stay. Heavily shedding pets need to be cleaned up after. Also, the upstairs is off limits. Please do not allow your pets to wonder upstairs. Thanks for understanding! There arent many outlets in this house. Beware. No shoes in house. :) She is old with original hardwood floors. Lets preserve her! If I have to handle trash that has been left behind, there will be a $20 handling fee. Please BAG ALL trash and either take it with you or place in black trash can outside. Please bring clothing and accessories for unexpected weather such as rain coats, umbrellas, boots, gloves etc. I do not supply much food. There are also no guardrails on the road, but it has several turnouts to allow cars to pass. I've been told that the gravel is not suitable for street motorcycles. Because the house is surrounded by forests and the river there is plenty of nature to enjoy, but also to endure. Mice will occasionally come inside, and although we set out-of-sight humane traps to keep them from settling in, there is a possibility that you will see them during your stay depending on whether they've found a food source recently (it could be from a prior guest -- not your own doing.) We do, however, check to make sure that the kitchen implements are sanitary at the beginning of your stay. The bug situation is that we are at a high enough elevation to not have a mosquito problem, but there will be gnats in the field, and moths at night wanting to get into the house.
